Frequently Asked Questions
A puppy needs to have had its final vaccination before grooming. Around 16 weeks is a great time to introduce puppies to a grooming experience to help them get used to it. A ‘Bath and Tidy’ is a great place to start as it is a little less confronting, this involves a bath, brush, cutting of nails and trimming of the bottom area, feet and eyes. A full clip is usually recommended at approximately 6 months.
We are currently booking approximately 6 weeks ahead. This however might be longer at certain times of the year, for example at Christmas and Easter – make sure you book well in advance for these times. You can check our availability on our online booking calendar.
For smaller dogs under 10kg our prices start at $105 for a short clip and for dogs 10kgs and over it starts at $110. We do not give exact prices until we see your dog as many breeds and cross breeds vary so much in coat type, size, temperament and the style in which you like to keep them.
For high maintenance coated dogs like curly coated dogs – eg poodles and oodles we recommend no longer than 8-10 weeks.
Simply put, no. We find it is much safer to have the dogs separated. Even if your dog is friendly we can not guarantee others will be and we would never expose your family member to a scary situation. As we give our dogs 100% of our attention while being groomed, we can not supervise the dogs on the floor which is very unsafe. We have little areas for everyone to relax in and as our grooming is appointment based, they will spend the majority of their time with us actually being groomed 🙂
Matted Dog Disclaimer:
Due to your dogs matted coat, they are at greater risk of stress, injury and skin irritation from the grooming process. All precautions will be taken to ensure your dog is as safe and comfortable as possible however problems do occasionally arise such as these.
As the condition of your dogs coat is your responsibility we are not liable if these problems do arise. By continuing with a groom after being told your dogs coat is matted you are agreeing to this.
